Britmodeller Needs You

Welcome... To the Britmodeller website, a modelling resource with a slightly British slant, which we hope you'll find refreshing.

It's a site for grown up modellers of all ages and abilities, and we pride ourselves on the welcome that we give new members to our group.

Who are we?

Britmodeller.com is the result of the meeting of like minded people at Scalemodelworld 2006 in Telford. Mike Williams (forum ID Mike), John Morrey (forum ID Skii), both felt that there was a distinct lack of modelling forums with a British slant, which could cater to our curiously eclectic tastes.

The idea gestated for a few months, until eventually Mike took the plunge, and purchased the domain name of Britmodeller, as suggested by John. The forum software was next on the list, and on March 23rd 2007, Britmodeller's forums were opened to a few select members. By the end of the weekend, that select number had grown appreciably, and this growth continued apace - quite ahead of our expectations.

Britmodeller has grown into a relaxed, vibrant forum, supported by updates to the website, including news, new products, notification of the posting of new content to the website, and a host of other aspects. These updates will be a regular feature of the site, so remember to pop back frequently to keep abreast of what's happening.

Since Britmodeller has grown beyond what we could have reasonably expected in our first year, we have added Greg Buckley (Greg B), a straight-talking serving soldier with a talent for the hobby, as moderator. With his help, the forums continue to grow, and become even more useful and entertaining as time goes by.

We hope that you enjoy visiting the site and forums as much as we enjoy having you here. Please stop by again soon, as it's your contributions that make this a great place to be.
